Honorary Dish of the Day: Dark Chocolate Loaf Cake
Honorary Dish of the Day: Our second dessert and honorary dish of the day this Friday is this decadent Dark Chocolate Loaf Cake! I used to love vanilla cake...until I tried truly rich and moist chocolate cake, and the rest was history 😆. Dark chocolate? Even better! For this simple cake recipe, I used a dark chocolate cake mix and added 2 eggs, 1 cup of whole milk, 1/4 cup of extra virgin olive oil, and seasoned with a dash of cinnamon and a sprinkling of black pepper. I used glass loaf-shaped baking dish to create the loaf-shape. I am a huge fan of glass baking dishes as I find them to result in cakes that bake very evenly and don't overcook on the edges as compared to metallic baking pans. I baked my cake at 375℉ for 45 minutes and let it cool for about 30 minutes before serving. I don't like icing on my cakes so I tend to serve them just as they in all its delicious glory. Whipped cream? Maybe...I just might give homemade whipped cream a try one of these fine days. This amazing cake is best savored with some hot tea for breakfast or served with ice cream for a truly heart-warming dessert treat. Enjoy and have a great weekend! 😋😍🎂
