Honorary Dish of the Day: Sweet & Savory Avocado Toast
Honorary Dish of the Day: Our honorary dish of the day today is one that has seemingly taken the foodie world by storm in modern times - the ever fancy, popular, and irresistibly delicious Sweet & Savory Avocado Toast! It's not hard to see why avocado toast has become the quintessential breakfast or brunch dish particularly in the Western Hemisphere. It's healthy, easy to make, super versatile with a myriad of topping options to choose from, requires very simple ingredients, and is just so downright delicious. What more could one ask for in a meal?
The avocado toast surely has it all covered. That said, there is no need to pay an arm and a leg for avocado toast - it's super easy to prepare right in your own kitchen. For this recipe, I used 3 slices of a tasty, store-bought whole wheat chia bread as my toast of choice. After toasting them for about 1 minute, I first spread of a very thin layer of blueberry preserves on them to provide the "sweet" component of my dish. I then placed slices of avocado on each toast, lightly mashing and spreading them over the bread. I then seasoned with some ground black pepper and a very light sprinkling of salt before finally garnishing with small radish slices to provide the "savory" component of the dish. There may be a lot of slicing involved in this process but it is all definitely worth the effort! I am looking forward to experimenting with different ingredient combinations for future avocado toast recipes so keep an eye on new recipes coming soon. Enjoy! 😉
