New Year Treats: Vanilla Chocolate Swirl Cookies
🍪 Vanilla Chocolate Swirl Cookies 🍪
Happy New Year, everyone! Yes...although we are well into February, the year is still very young and rearing to go. We are kicking things off for 2024 by celebrating the month of love with these irresistibly delicious and delightfully crunchy Vanilla Chocolate Swirl Cookies as our signature highlight for February. Chocolate is a must-have ingredient for Valentine's day, but I definitely love experimenting by mixing things up and blending multiple flavors. Vanilla chocolate swirl cake is one of my absolute favorite desserts, hence I felt inspired to develop this fun idea of translating that same exact flavor profile into a cookie and voila, the result was this amazing masterpiece!
I used my standard cookie dough recipe as a template (check out our Cinnamon-Maple Cookies article for reference), with some ingredient modifications:
Ingredients
21/4 Cups All-Purpose Flour
1/2 Bar of Dark Chocolate (70%)
1 Large Egg, whisked
3/4 Cup Granulated Sugar
1 Stick (8tbsp) of Butter, room temperature
2 tsp Vanilla extract
1/2 tsp Baking Soda
1/4 tsp Salt
In order to make them a bit more crunchy with a slightly crumbly texture, bake them at 350℉ for about 15 minutes instead of the typical 12 minutes that works well for softer cookies. I will include a more detailed baking roadmap in an upcoming compilation, so be on the lookout for that coming soon. In the meantime, I hope you embrace the spirit of adventure and experimentation in your own kitchen this year...the possibilities are endless and the culinary world is quite literally your oyster. Enjoy! 😊💝💖
